Upload preparation

YouTube Export Settings Checker

Compare your export settings with YouTube's current recommended upload settings. This is guidance for general video uploads, not a compatibility verdict.

Your export

Enter your video and audio settings

Recommendations are based on YouTube's current general upload encoding guidance. Your settings stay in this browser.

Video

Keep the same frame rate as the source recording when possible.

Audio

This comparison does not upload or inspect a video file.

How to use it

A recommendation comparison, not a validator

This checker compares your export with YouTube's recommended upload settings. YouTube can process files outside these recommendations, so the results do not predict upload acceptance.

Video guidance

Keep the source frame rate and use progressive scan

YouTube recommends encoding at the source frame rate and deinterlacing before upload. While 16:9 is the desktop standard, vertical, square, and other aspect ratios are supported by the player.

Bitrate guidance

Match the table to your exact setup

Video bitrate guidance changes with SDR or HDR, resolution, and frame-rate group. Custom resolutions and other frame rates are left unmapped rather than guessed.
